As one may imagine that, as Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Everything (IoE) continue to expand, the volumes of data produced are staggering. By 2030, it’s estimated that there will be more than 75 billion connected devices worldwide (including 47 at my home alone !!), with each device generating staggering real-time data in applications spanning from healthcare and logistics to renewables and urban infrastructure. However, in this data-driven landscape, customers no longer value raw data points alone; They seek actionable insights that can drive smarter decisions, streamline operations, and unlock new value. Just to give you more thought on this, imagine a tracking use case, no one is keen to see moving dots on the graph, all they are interested is in the short- and long-term insights these patterns derives. This is where Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes indispensable, transforming IoT and IoE networks from mere data generators into intelligent, predictive ecosystems.

Why AI Matters in IoT & IoE Networks

AI enables IoT and IoE networks to transcend their original purpose of merely capturing data. By analysing patterns, detecting anomalies, and predicting outcomes, AI empowers devices to offer context-aware solutions that are meaningful to end-users and this calls for the shift from data to insights is driven by an industry-wide recognition that raw data without context is of limited use. Insights provide value in several keyways:

Customers seek actionable information—not isolated data points—because insights help them understand complex scenarios, drive decisions, and maximize operational efficiencies. AI ensures that IoT and IoE applications remain relevant, impactful, and future-ready, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in a connected world.
